North Carolina's eighth congressional district comprises a large portion of the southern Piedmont area of North Carolina from Concord to Spring Lake, including China Grove, Albemarle, Troy, Pinehurst and Raeford. The district includes all of Cabarrus, Montgomery, Moore, Hoke and Stanly counties, as well as portions of Rowan and Cumberland counties.Mar 05, 2019 The date has been set for the special election being held in the 3rd Congressional district of North Carolina. North Carolinas Democratic Governor Roy Cooper issued a Writ of Election which set the date of July 9, 2019, for the special election. The narrow Mark Harris victory was not certified by the North Carolina Board of Elections as a result, and hearings have been held. Today, the date of this editors note, said Board of Elections voted to hold a new election in the North Carolina 9th Congressional District.
